Natural Thatch from Environmentally Friendly Palm Fronds

Palm fronds are considered "green" because of the way they're collected.  At Shade Palapas we use only quality palms that are cut with the rest of the plant left intact to provide wildlife habitat. The palm continues growing for future harvesting.

Social benefits are also reaped since more money goes to the people who cut the palm leaves to the small villages that weave the final product.  Eco-palm producers operating in Mexico follow guidelines similar to those for certified chocolate and coffee.

Finally, thatch is naturally cooler than fabric or solid materials. Hot air is not trapped under the canopy, instead it filters through.  You stay more comfortable without noisy fans or other artificial cooling.  You are protected from the sun's heat and UV damage while enjoying your back yard or patio.
